2 groups clash over fishpond

LUBAO, Pampanga — Shots rang out here before dawn yesterday when two groups fighting over a fishpond in a coastal village, clashed, authorities said.

Mayor Lilia Pineda, however, said no one was hurt in the confrontation between the groups of one Kenneth Bautista of Hagonoy, Bulacan, and Numeriano Romero of Orani, Bataan.

Both groups have attempted to take over the fishpond in Barangay Gumi, each showing documents to back their claim: Bautista, a temporary restraining order from the court, and Romero, an authority from the Department of Agrarian Reform Adjudication Board.— Ric Sapnu
