Ramsay’s Porsche seized
MANILA, Philippines — Actor Derek Ramsay’s supercar has been seized by the Bureau of Customs.
The BOC yesterday served the warrant of seizure and detention for Ramsay’s Porsche 918 Spyder.
Ramsay is accused of misdeclaration and underpayment of taxes.
If he fails to submit within 15 days documents refuting the discrepancy, a forfeiture order would be issued and the car would be auctioned off, with proceeds going to state coffers, the BOC said.
Based on BOC records, the P48.02-million vehicle was listed as a Porsche Boxster worth P3.26 million.
Only P1.8 million in taxes were reportedly paid instead of P32 million, according to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno.
Customs personnel who processed the supercar’s entry documents will be investigated, Nepomuceno said.
