MANILA, Philippines — The family of former president Ferdinand Marcos will hold a mass at his grave at the Libingan ng mga Bayani today, an official said yesterday.
Col. Edmundo Suficienca, commanding officer at the Libingan, said the Marcoses are scheduled to visit and hold a mass this morning.
Just like when the late strongman’s remains were buried in November last year, the Marcoses’ observance of All Saints’ Day will be private, sources close to the family said.
Neither former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. nor Ilocos Norte Rep. Imee Marcos posted any comment about today’s event on their social media accounts.
Aside from Marcos, former presidents Elpidio Quirino, Carlos Garcia and Diosdado Macapagal are buried in Libingan.
Except for Marcos, the former presidents’ graves had flowers sent from Malacañang, radio station dzMM reported.
It is not known if the flowers will be sent today, according to the report.
