GA homeowners seek SC help

MANILA, Philippines - Homeowners of subdivisions of Globe Asiatique Realty Holding Corp. (GA) yesterday asked the Supreme Court (SC) to resolve the cases against their developer, saying the court proceedings have put in peril the ownership of their homes.

In a four-page letter to Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno, the homeowners of Xevera housing projects in Mabalacat and Bacolor in Pampanga appealed to the high court to look into their plight.

They claimed they ended up “victims” in the court battle between the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) and detained GA president Delfin Lee.

They added they were caught in the lengthy court proceedings, prompting them to bring the matter to the SC.

Rolando Santos, president of the Xevera Mabalacat Homeowners Association, said they have suffered collateral injuries because of the cases against the GA.

Santos said they issued their appeal to Sereno after Pag-IBIG Fund president Darlene Berberabe rejected their plea to continue payment of their monthly dues for their housing loans with the agency.
