MIAA ready for holiday passenger surge

MANILA, Philippines - The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is ready for  a surge in passenger arrivals this Christmas holidays.

MIAA general manager Jose Angel Honrado said they would implement Oplan Lakbay Pasko 2015 from Dec. 15 to Jan. 5, 2016 as part of security measures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

“MIAA has prepared for the surge of travelers returning to the Philippines to celebrate the holidays,” he said.

Honrado expects a 10 percent increase in passenger arrivals this year. December 2014 data showed there were over 1.6 million arrivals while departures reached 1.4 million.
