MANILA, Philippines - An anti-drug advocate group is asking the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to require members of the popular boy band One Direction to undergo drug test first before their concert in Manila on March 21.
Ferdinand Magisa of Laban ng Pamilyang Pilipino said they have talked to immigration officials and were told to submit a formal request.
“This is for the welfare of their fans, mostly youth,” Magisa said.
The move stemmed from a video showing two band members, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, allegedly smoking marijuana in Peru.
Their band mate, Liam Payne, had apologized on Twitter for the incident.
