MANILA, Philippines - A former official of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) is facing charges for failing to account for P26,652 in cash advances in 2011.
Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has ordered the filing of a complaint against Cristeto Dinopol Jr., former MWSS deputy commissioner, for failing to liquidate cash advances to cover expenses incurred during a visit to Cagayan De Oro City, a septage monitoring in Bataan and a convention in Pampanga.
The ombudsman said Dinopol violated Article 218 of the Revised Penal Code, which punishes the offense of failure to render accounts.
