MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into a police official’s condominium unit in Pasig City Wednesday, taking his service firearm and personal belongings worth P100,000.
Superintendent Robin Sarmiento and his wife left their unit at the Riverfront Residences in Barangay Caniogan at around 11 a.m. to fetch their child, Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Jose Hidalgo Jr. said.
When they returned three hours later, Sarmiento said the burglars – who went in through the condo’s sliding window – had taken his Glock 17 service pistol, three loaded magazines, firearm optical sight worth P30,000, Philippine National Police Academy class ring, a Samsung Galaxy tablet costing P35,000 and a MyPhone mobile phone costing P1,000.
Sarmiento is assigned at the Regional Police Holding Administrative Unit of the National Capital Region Police Office in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.
