MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City council passed two measures Monday, asking the Philippine Postal Corp. (PhlPost) to issue commemorative stamps in time with the 100th founding anniversary of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) and 75th founding anniversary of Quezon City.
The measure urging PhlPost postmaster general Josefina dela Cruz to issue INC stamps was passed two months after the agency unveiled in May the centennial stamps.
Meanwhile, the city council also passed a similar measure, this time urging PhlPost to issue commemorative stamps in time with the jubilee founding anniversary of Quezon City in October.
“Since its creation, Quezon City has continued to march into progress, becoming one of the premier cities in the country housing some of the top companies and best establishments,” read the resolution.
It was introduced by Councilors Donato Matias and Melecio Castelo.
