MANILA, Philippines - Burglars broke into the Quezon City house of an employee of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and took more than P200,000 worth of valuables on Monday.
Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Ariel Velasco said BIR collector Richard Ablen, 57, reported losing P204,000 in cash and jewelry after burglars broke in his house in Barangay San Agustin in Novaliches.
Velasco said the complainant left his house locked but unattended early Monday.
During the day, burglars managed to enter the house by scaling the fence and destroying the main door’s padlock. Police have yet to determine the identity of the burglars.
