MANILA, Philippines - A lightning strike caused passengers of a Metro Rail Transit (MRT) to be stranded near its Kamuning, Quezon City station yesterday morning.
MRT spokesman Hernando Cabrera said the power supply was cut when lightning hit the power line near the station just before 10 a.m.
He said that nearly 20 minutes later, the MRT resumed operations for its southbound half, from its Shaw Boulevard to Pasay Taft stations.
Cabrera said full line operations had been restored by 11:40 a.m.
