MANILA, Philippines - A 19-year-old man reportedly stabbed dead his 35-year-old stepfather for beating up his mother in Pandacan, Manila Thursday night.
Boy Dangani fled after allegedly stabbing Ernesto Piga Jr. thrice, Senior Police Officer 3 Glenzor Vallejo said.
He said that at past 9 p.m., Dangani caught a drunk Piga beating up his mother, Rosalia Dangani, in their house and accusing her of having an affair.
Dangani and Piga drew knives and lunged at each other. “The victim was unlucky – he was very drunk and the teenager overpowered him,†Vallejo said.
Despite his wounds, Piga managed to run out of their shanty and seek help from neighbors. He died along a nearby alley. Vallejo said police officers are preparing charges against Dangani.
