Subdivision guard kills businessman

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was shot dead yesterday morning following an altercation with a security guard of a Quezon City subdivision where he lived.

Michael Rodolfo, 21, of Rainbow Homes 2 in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, died after he was reportedly shot by Vic Ajeas in front of the subdivision guard house at around 9:30 a.m., Senior Police Officer 1 Rommel Tiangco said. Police officers are hunting down Ajeas.

Rodolfo sustained gunshot wounds in the chest inflicted by a shotgun, he added. He was rushed by concerned residents to Bernardino General Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Before the attack, the victim’s aunt called the guard house and asked Ajeas to look for someone.

But for some reason, an argument ensued between the woman and the suspect. Because of this, Rodolfo rushed to the guard house and confronted the village guard.

During the argument, the suspect, who was holding his shotgun, suddenly shot the victim. After Rodolfo fell, the suspect quickly left the area and left behind his shotgun, Tiangco said.
