MANILA, Philippines - Six men boarded a northbound bus plying the Malanday-Baclaran route and robbed its passengers as the bus passed through Bagong Barrio, Caloocan City Tuesday night.
Passenger Ma. Romelyn Alvarez, 20, said the robbers boarded the bus in front of the Forward Group building on EDSA just before 10 p.m. They drew out knives and guns, robbed the passengers and ordered the bus driver to stop before they reached Monumento. The robbers fled on foot.
Bus conductor Augusto Malapo, 36, told a police patrol team about the incident but the policemen did not find the robbers.
Several bus robberies have been recorded in northern Metro Manila, particularly along Samson Road leading to Malabon and Navotas, in the past two months.
