MANILA, Philippines - A four-hour fire destroyed at least 250 houses and a public school along Apelo Cruz street in Malibay, Pasay City yesterday.
Chief Inspector Douglas Guiab, city fire marshal, said the fire broke out at 1:13 p.m. in the house of Nimfa Rinon and spread to adjacent houses.
Guiab said the fire affected Barangays 157, 162, and 163 in Malibay district.
The fire gutted 20 classrooms, a computer room, and the library of the Apelo Cruz elementary school.
No one was reported injured in the incident.
