MANILA, Philippines - An Indian money lender was robbed before she was killed by motorcycle-riding men in Quezon City yesterday morning.
Manpreet Kuar, 22, of Don Antonio Heights, died during the robbery that took place on North Zuzuarregui street in Barangay Old Balara at 9 a.m.
Kuar died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to PO2 Alvin Quisumbing.
The victim and her husband, Jasbir, were collecting debts from their clients in Barangay Old Balara when two unidentified men on a motorcycle blocked their way.
At gunpoint, the back rider told Kuar to yield the money.
The suspects shot the victim before fleeing.
Meanwhile, a female realtor lost P1.3 million worth of valuables to burglars who broke into her house in Barangay Loyola Heights, also in Quezon City yesterday.
Evelyn Eugenio, 70, said the burglary was discovered by her two helpers at 6 a.m.
Eugenio’s housemaids were supposed to clean her bedroom but were surprised to see the cabinets had been opened and ransacked.
Police said the suspects entered the house by destroying the steel grills of the window of the comfort room.
