MANILA, Philippines - Police arrested a French man after he allegedly created trouble outside a bar in Makati City and kicked a policeman who tried to pacify him Friday night.
Police Officer 1 June Cabrera of the city’s tourist police unit said he was patrolling Burgos street at 11:15 p.m. when Joey Baladuya of Barangay Poblacion sought his help.
Baladuya informed Cabrera that a foreigner identified as Marcel Albaracin, 60, was creating a scene outside the Argos bar.
Cabrera and Baladuya then proceeded to the bar.
The policeman introduced himself as a police officer and tried to pacify the French man. Cabrera even offered to take Albaracin home.
But according to Makati police chief Senior Superintendent Manuel Lukban, the foreigner gave Cabrera the “dirty finger” and kicked him.
A complaint for direct assault has been filed against Albaracin, who was detained at the Makati police station.
Lukban said they notified the French embassy of Albaracin’s arrest.
