MANILA, Philippines - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has arrested 15 foreigners and busted a syndicate involved in the cloning of credit cards during a raid on a house in BF Homes subdivision in Quezon City, an official said yesterday.
NBI technical investigation chief Palmer Mallari said the syndicate allegedly maintained a call center-type operation to duplicate existing credit cards through hacking.
He refused to reveal the names of those arrested pending verification that the suspects are indeed from Taiwan.
The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 8484, a law regulating the issuance and use of access devices.
