MANILA, Philippines - Government agents arrested two suspected members of the Bamboo drug syndicate, who yielded at least 20 kilos of shabu worth P100-million during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City yesterday.
Criminal Investigation and Detection Group(CIDG) chief Director Samuel Pagdilao Jr. identified the arrested as Carlos Gonzales Ty, alias Sky Ty, 25, of Ongpin Street, Manila and Jerwin Manzano de Jesus, alias Jerry Manzano, 30, of Retiro, Quezon City.
The two were nabbed after handing out a kilo of shabu to a police poseur-buyer at the parking lot of a fastfood chain in South Triangle. They yielded the shabu and the P2.5 million “boodle” money.
Pagdilao said the arrest of the two Bamboo gang members is part of the all-out campaign of the Aquino government against organized crime, under the newly-reorganized Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission headed by Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr.
