NBI worker kills 2 neighbors for 'Andres de Saya' remark

MANILA, Philippines - The Muntinlupa police has launched a manhunt against an employee of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for killing two neighbors who called him an “Andres de Saya,” a Filipino term for henpecked husband, Monday night.

Police Officer 3 Buenaventura dela Cuesta said Saul Hermano fled after shooting Noli Dimaapi, and Edmundo Ullege, residents of Katarungan Village 2 in Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.

The two were declared dead on arrival by Dr. Garich Reyes of the Medical Center of Muntinlupa at around 10:42 p.m.

Initial investigation showed Hermano was on his way home when he chanced upon the victims engaged in a drinking spree.

Hermano had a prior misunderstanding with the victims after reprimanding them for making loud noises while drinking.

While Hermano was passing by, the victims reportedly started laughing and Hermano overheard the two saying that he was “Andres de Saya.” Hermano approached the victims and shot Dimaapi and Ullege.
