MANILA, Philippines - At least 5,000 jobs will be up for grabs in the 27th Recom Mega Job Fair at the Caloocan City Hall’s Plaza Rizal tomorrow.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri said the city government, through its Labor and Industrial Relations Office (LIRO) and the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), are providing jobseekers a convenient venue to meet with 520 prospective employers.
“Better come and pre-register with LIRO and PESO as early as 8 a.m. because as always, the procedure will be on a first come, first serve basis, although the event will run until 4 p.m.,” he told Caloocan jobseekers.
A similar mega job fair will also be held on Friday at the Caloocan City Hall North Plaza along Zapote Road in Camarin, Echiverri said.
LIRO chief Dante Esteban said a big part for the continuing success of the local job fairs had been due to the participation of partner companies and corporations.
“For this program, we have elicited the help of Puregold, SM, Rustan’s, Robinson’s, Union Motors, Marks and Spencer, JBC, NCO, KSK and Andoks, among others,” he said.
Esteban said recent graduates of the Caloocan City manpower training program will also have a chance to work abroad as some foreign companies have expressed willingness to hire skilled workers like welders and sales representatives during tomorrow’s employment activity. – Pete Laude
