Caloocan to train displaced workers to become entrepreneurs

MANILA, Philippines - Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri said yesterday the local government is boosting its current thrust to “create enterprising entrepreneurs” from displaced workers.

Echiverri said jobless residents looking for alternative means of generating additional income or those wanting to develop their skills may avail themselves of free livelihood and skills courses at the Caloocan City Manpower Training Center (CCMTC).

Among the courses being offered are automotive servicing, refrigerator and air con servicing, welding, building wiring installation, consumer electronics servicing, cell phone technician, computer hardware servicing, computer operations, food processing, commercial cooking, dressmaking, fashion apparel, hairdressing and beauty care and reflexology.          – Jerry Botial, Pete Laude
