The building will house 17 classrooms which will help accommodate more students in the public school.
"We make sure that no qualified student will be denied access to free education in any of our public schools so we strive to continue to provide more teachers and school buildings," Aguilar said.
The construction of additional classrooms is part of the mayor’s pledge to prioritize the provision of basic education to the Las Pinas youths.
The city also provided 88 additional tables and chairs for teachers, 1,350 chairs, 600 desks, 39 classrooms and 78 blackboards.
The city is subsidizing a total of 65 day-care centers, 20 public elementary and seven secondary schools, and the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Memorial College (DFCAMC). It provides free tuition, books, snacks for pre-schoolers, and school supplies.
Meanwhile, City Engineer Rose Bantog reported that the new building is on top of the three-story high school building constructed in Barangay BF International/CAA, the tricycle terminal-cum-livelihood center in Barangay Almanza II, two multi-purpose halls in Barangay Talon II and Talon IV and the two-story Social Development Center for street kids.
