Bus driver stabbed dead for following traffic rules

For obeying traffic rules, a bus driver was stabbed dead by an irate passenger yesterday morning.

Honorio Bugadisan, 49, of Fairview, Quezon City was killed on the spot after refusing to unload a passenger in a prohibited area.

The bus he was driving was then on the Northbound lane of EDSA.

Police Officer 3 Reynaldo Aguba said the suspect, Osias Vital, 56, a tourist bus driver from Capas, Tarlac, asked to be dropped off near the corner of Tramo street in Pasay City.

When the driver refused to violate traffic rules, the suspect got annoyed and engaged the victim in a heated argument.

Cooler heads intervened to break up the fight but the suspecct, who was with his wife when the incident happened, allegedly got a pair of scissors from his bag and stabbed the victim at least three times in different parts of the body.

Other passengers immediately sought the help of police. Vital was reportedly arrested while still holding the pair of scissors he used to stab the victim. He is now detained at the Pasay City detention cell for murder charges. – Nikko Dizon
