TMG staff victim of hit and run

A member of the Philippine National Police-Traffic Management Group was killed in a hit and run incident in Pasay City the other night. The victim was identified as PO3 Renato Unday, 42, assigned at the Weigh Bridge Station of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Investigators said the incident took place at around 10:15 p.m. Friday at the Weigh Bridge Station of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Witnesses claimed that a 10-wheeler truck carrying softdrinks hit Unday while he was directing traffic. Unday was killed instantly as he went under the truck.

The suspect immediately escaped after the incident and is still at large.

In Parañaque City, a Korean businessman was found hanging from the ceiling of his house in what police believed to be was a suicide. Ga Nang Park, 61, a resident of BF Homes, Parañaque City was already dead when he was discovered by his maid who was identified as Marianeta Paredes. Paredes told the police that she was going about her daily chores at around 6 a.m. when she found her employer hanging from the ceiling of the garage.

Investigators suspect that the victim took his own life due to financial problems. – Marvin Sy
