Gonzalo Abagon died while being brought to the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC) while Carmen Vioje, 63, of Project 6 is currently under observation at the same hospital for sustaining bullet wounds in the various parts of the body.
Reports from the Central Police District-Central Intelligence Unit (CPD-CIU) revealed that the incident happened around 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Congressional Avenue and Visayas Avenue.
Abagon was driving a white Suzuki Esteem GLX (WBZ-315) with Vioje when two unidentified male suspects, riding a Yamaha DT-125 motorcycle with no plates, suddenly cut their path and shouted at them to open the window of their vehicle.
Police said the suspects opened fire at the victims when Abagon tried to resist.
The suspects sped off after managing to take away Viojes handbag. Reports indicated that the suspects may have tailed the victims car from a bank following a cash withdrawal by Vioje.
After being peppered with bullets, the car bumped into a van being driven by one Ravenal Gaurado, who helped bring the victims to the hospital. Katherine Adraneda
