Aida Awwad, 38, a beauty consultant and resident of Mandaluyong City and Maria Carmina Roxas, 45, a doctor from Ayala-Alabang in Muntinlupa, filed charges and counter-charges against each other before the Makati police.
According to Police Officer 2 Dexter Castor, the fight between the two women started when they were queuing for tickets for the screening of the Harry Potter movie at the Greenbelt 3 cinema at the Ayala Center.
The women started giving each other the eye when one of them allegedly tried to cut into the long queue.
After purchasing the tickets, Awwad asked her daughter to buy some popcorn at a nearby snack outlet while she went to an adjacent stall to buy beverages.
When Awwad returned with the beverages, she saw her daughter standing at the side of the counter without the popcorn. She asked the vendor why her daughter still do not have any popcorn. In order to avoid a scene, the vendor simply handed over the snacks.
Roxas, who was also in the same line to buy some popcorn, shouted at Awwad, accusing her of cutting into the line.
The two women engaged in a heated argument which ultimately resulted to a slapping match.
Both women went to their respective clinics to get medical certificates before proceeding to the Makati police to file their complaints. Marvin Sy
