Complainant Kin Joo Won, 30, businessman, of Unit 202, Cedar Mansion II, Amber Avenue, Ortigas, Pasig City, claimed the two brothers now have at least P510,000 of his money.
The suspects, Kim Hak Soo and his younger brother Han Chang, currently residing at Robinsons Galleria Suites in EDSA, Quezon City are now being hunted by operatives of the Central Police District.
Initial investigation disclosed that the incident took place at about 1 p.m. inside the suspects hotel on Edsa. The complainant apparently had entrusted at least 25,000,000 Korean won to the brothers for them to convert into pesos.
After two hours, Kim Hak arrived and handed P490,000 to Won and promised that his brother would come back later that afternoon to give the balance of P510,000.
Won, however, was dismayed when Han Chang did not arrive. It was only yesterday when the complainant decided to report the matter to the police.
"We are thoroughly investigating the case, and I am sure we will have further developments on this very soon," Senior Inspector Rodolfo Jaraza, chief of the CPD-Central Investigation Unit, said. Matthew Estabillo
