Grandson of supermart owner commits suicide?

Probers of the Central Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit (CPD-CIU) are facing a blank wall on the death of the grandson of the owner of Glori’s Supermarts as the victim’s mother refused to cooperate in the investigation.

Police failed to gather important facts surrounding the death of Dionisio Navarro, 17, student, who allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself inside his room in their house at 15 Mercury Avenue, Mariz Village, Barangay Culiat, Quezon City last Monday night.

Ma. Lourdes Navarro, the victim’s mother and daughter of the owner of Glori’s Supermarts with different branches in Quezon City, refused to cooperate in the investigation on the death of her son.

A group of policemen were immediately dispatched to the victim’s residence after police received a call informing them that a teenager had committed suicide by shooting himself. However, the victim’s family refused to answer any question from the lawmen.

The lawmen were told to return when the family were ready to answer questions because they were still shocked by the incident.

Police theorized foul play in the death of Dionisio, who was pronounced dead on arrival at the New Era General Hospital from a gunshot wound in his left chest.

They also doubted that the victim shot himself in the chest because most suicide victims shoot themselves in the temple and they were surprised at the Navarro’s refusal to cooperate in the investigation.

No fatal weapon was found by the police on the victim’s bed or inside the bedroom after the incident.

Investigation showed that Ma. Lourdes and other members of the family were busy preparing their dinner at around 7:15 p.m. when they heard a gunshot from the victim’s room.

Ms. Lourdes and other relatives rushed to the victim’s room and were surprised to see the lifeless body of the victim in a pool of blood.
