CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle-for-hire driver was shot dead last Sunday afternoon in sitio Upper Tawog, barangay Valladolid, Carcar City.
Roldan Navarro, 37, a resident of the place and believed to have been involved in several robberies in sitio Upper Tawog. His killers’ identities have not been established.
Navarro succumbed to two gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. He was declared dead on arrival at the Carcar Provincial Hospital where he was rushed.
Chief Insp. Teodulfo Manatad, Carcar City police chief, said Navarro was heading back to the terminal area after taking a passenger to sitio Upper Tawog when shot.
Initial investigation of the police revealed that Navarro does not have any derogatory record in the police station.
But neighbors alleged he had taken part in thieveries in their place.
“We still have to verify the allegations kay so far wa ma’y ni-come up og reklamo sa station,” Manatad said in a phone interview.
