CEBU, Philippines - A security guard of a container transport firm in Mandaue City was arrested yesterday afternoon for allegedly selling a forklift chain belonging to the company.
Jumel Fuentes of barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City, employed by the CRD Security Agency, was arrested by a team led by Opao police station chief P/Insp. Wilson Abot after being told by a trisikad driver that he was paid P180 to deliver a forklift chain to a junkshop Tuesday morning.
Fuentes was arrested yesterday afternoon in Cebu City through the help of the agency's guard inspector Junel Rondina.
Police investigation revealed that an informant provided information regarding a forklift chain that was sold by a trisikad driver to a junkshop in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
Trisikad driver Ruben Arcelo, 51, of superior barangay Looc, was found but denied stealing the chain. He said it was Fuentes who instructed him to sell the chain to a junkshop.
After getting P800 for the chain, Fuentes gave him P150 and they parted ways. Arcelo is still in the custody of the police.
