Philippine fashion ball

Jerome Lorico “The pieces in the capsule collection were inspired by the dark and somber moods of a woman. Each one is an element that we can associate with what a woman’s subconscious holds. Fear, anxiety, abandonment and depression; these are just a few of the deep emotions to which the looks attempted to give a visual representation. Leather was the main material since it was the closest thing that could symbolize flesh.”

MANILA, Philippines - At the Philippine Fashion Ball held last Monday at the Fairmont Hotel, models, stylists, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, and editors gathered once again to recognize some of the industry’s most noted personalities for their contribution to Philippine fashion. Now in its fourth year, some of the names that were honored that night were one of YStyle’s favorite photographers BJ Pascual, and our beloved queen mother, Lifestyle editor Millet Mananquil, just to name a few.

Aside from the awarding ceremonies, one of the highlights of the event was the showcase of collections from seven young designers who are known for their individuality and unique aesthetic. YStyle went backstage to ask these designers about the inspirations behind each of their collections. Photos by CHOLO DELA VEGA, Special thanks to KEREN PASCUAL and NOEL MANAPAT
