MANILA, Philippines - Too many times, editorials today give you too many fashion trends. How does the everyday sort of man figure it all out and put a presentable wardrobe together?
This is a story for the real kind of man. One who is a gentleman of the new breed— passionate about a cause, works hard and plays hard, one whose style rules over any fashion trend. He has a nonchalant air about his choices, giving them some thought but effortlessly throwing them together in casual elegance.
Things of note to you, everyday man: fit is the most important thing. And do not scrimp on a barber, as an amazing haircut goes a long way.
Monday Blues
The start of the week is pretty rough for anybody. The weekend’s haze still clouds your brain, so put on a well-fitting suit to help you accept (and perfectly mask from your boss) that it truly is the start of the work week.
Tuesday running around town day
Just because you are running errands does not mean you have the excuse to look like a slob. It’s cool to wear a tee and sneakers but pair them with khakis to dress them up a bit. Carry around a rain jacket for Manila’s unpredictable weather.
Don’t know about you but we find something to fight for at least once a week! And if you really want to be taken seriously, well instead of looking like a homeless person get it together in an all-denim outfit. It’s still pretty hippie, and still making you look like you know what you are talking about.
Thursday I’m running out of food day
Grocery shopping? Well really it’s the perfect place to meet a date aside from restocking your fridge. Everybody knows you find decent people in the supermarket. So put on your Sunday best (even if it isn’t Sunday). Remember the look: successful but fun.
Friday date night
See? What did we tell you, we got you a date didn’t we?! Don’t try too hard on the first date, do something casual and look casual but presentable. A denim jacket gives you some serious sex appeal. And the flowers? Ditch the wrapping.
Make it look like you picked those flowers yourself.
