Norman Noriega: Rock and roll meets urban

With a nod to the avant-garde  albeit via minimalist designers Issey Miyake and Rick Owens  Norman Noriega showcased an all-black and neutral collection of asymmetrical hems, zipper details and fantastic draping. Tunic tops and dresses in the softest cotton were worn over sheer leggings and pants. Marbled fabric, which provided the collection its shot of graphic detail (though still white and gray), was as interesting as it was wearable. Zipper details on everything from the sleeves to the collar and the bodice gave the pieces a sexy spin and further accented the elaborate draping. Although some fabrics were too shiny on the finish, one couldn’t ignore the workmanship and unique cut of the suits. A brilliant use of layering chiffon over lamé also created a gorgeous luminous effect.
