Remember September

MANILA, Philippines - The last trimester has just begun and most people were looking forward to the start of September. Some are excited for the approaching holiday season, some can’t wait for semestral break, but a few just wanted to tweet “Wake me up when September ends.”

Whatever your reasons are, September 2014 will only happen once and there’s no better way to spend the days than creating memories while ticking off some things on your bucket or to-do lists. If you don’t have anything planned for the remaining weekends, here are a few events to fill up your calendar.

1. See art done live and listen to foot-stomping, head-banging music

Homegrown independent brand THE Clothing steps things up for their anniversary party this year. For five years, THE Clothing has been a noticeable influence on the local skateboarding, graffiti, cycling, art and music lifestyle. On Sept. 13, the brand’s fans and patrons will gather at Cubao X for good music, live art, bike shows and other surprise contests. Headlining the event are local favorites Sandwich, Cheats, Pinkcow, LDP and a whole lot more. If you don’t have any weekend plans yet, drop by for a good time. 2. Do some early Christmas shopping and hang out with like-minded go-getting girls

DesignHerStory, a community of young, empowered women, brings together creative and passionate bloggers such as Arriane Serafico, Abbey Sy, Reese Lansangan, Camie Juan, Jeline and Jamie Catt for a weekend bazaar of pre-loved items and handcrafted artworks. From branded dresses to film cameras, it’s the perfect venue to get some early (and cheap) Christmas shopping done. Drop by Local Edition Coffee and Tea in Makati on Sept. 14 from 3-6 p.m. Bring your Christmas gift list and dream project ideas because, who knows, you might meet a potential partner-in-crime.

3. Celebrate and LIV a colorful life

The UP Economics Society (UP Ecosoc) celebrates their 56th anniversary with seven major events spread throughout September. Their biggest and most colorful is LIV, a dressed-down, dirty-up paint party. With waterguns, an exhilarating line-up of artists and drinks to keep you going all night, LIV’s third installment is looking up to be one for the books. The party is on Sept. 20, 2014, 9 p.m. in the open field on 9th Avenue corner 34th Street, Bonifacio Global City. For ticket inquiries, contact Klaud at 0917 527 5417. Mark your calendars because this is something you don’t want to miss.
