Dusit Thani's craziest offer is yummy

MANILA, Philippines - It’s Dusit Thani Manila’s all-day dining restaurant’s newest and craziest offering to date. For the same affordable price of P1,150 net per person for lunch buffet and an additional P149 per person for dinner buffet, dining guests at Basix get an overload of assorted sodas, chilled juices, red and white premium wines and local beers amidst an indulgent international buffet spread that consists of more than a dozen cooking stations.

All diners get a 30-percent discount when they dine at Basix tomorrow, June 27 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in observance of the Dusit green hour initiative, Dusit Thani Manila’s monthly campaign to save Mother Earth.

Salads include a mix using croutons, anchovies, cherry tomatoes, green and black olives, green and red ice lettuce, red beets, bacon bits, parmesan cheese and alfalfa with a variety of dressing choices that include Caesar, French, vinaigrette and thousand island. The prepared salads include potato with smoked chicken salad, ham and cheese, marinated sausage, seafood salad, pasta salad and artichoke with smoked fish. At the Island station there are cold appetizers like chicken galantine, smoked boneless bangus, cold roast porkloin, smoked tanguigue, vegetable terrine, pork embutido, smoked salmon and crab quiche.

Give in to the tempting, succulent goodness of the roasted duck and charsu pork, while the dimsum station houses various types of steamed buns such as hakao, pork and beef siomai, seafood, chili shrimp, duck and vegetable, scallop, shark’s fin and shrimp with lemongrass dumplings; and the live wok station whips up noodle and vegetable dishes with an exciting bunch of ingredients to mix and match.

At the Japanese station where a display of Philippine maki and assorted sushi awaits you while the tempura station’s deep-fried crisp selection includes shrimp, squash, mushroom, carrots, bellpepper, sweet potato, eggplant and okra. The surf and turf station offers a choice of salmon, squid, panggasius, chicken, lamb chops, beef, shrimp and chicken sate hot off the grill.  

The Pasta station offers three best-selling dishes — spaghetti with marinara sauce, fussili with bolognese sauce and penne with carbonara sauce. The shawarma and roast beef carving stations have international hot dishes.

The selection of desserts include freshly-baked pastries and cakes, fruits in season, home made creamy ice cream, halo-halo, chocolate fondue and crepes.
