Partying in high spirits

Chocolate Clothing Co. jumpstarted the shopping spirit this holiday season with a timely opening of its 12th store at the fifth level of the Shangri-La Plaza. The store that brought in Aussie labels Grab, Endless Spirit and Earth Angel to our shores celebrated another successful opening.

And if you ladies are off on a holiday trip, make sure to pick up a piece or two from Loungeri Lux by Celine Lopez, the new must-have resort wear to glam up your tropical lifestyle. Without doubt, it brings out the fabulous in you. Loungeri Lux is also available at all Chocolate Clothing boutiques.

Frances Amper

Where will you shop when you get your holiday bonus?

I am a Power Plant girl, especially with the huge Fully Booked store. I also want to check out Nicolette Bell’s lovely shoes. I am a shoe addict!

Kat Dy

How are you preparing your wardrobe for the endless parties this coming holiday season?

I haven’t even thought about it. I might rummage through my closet and make an inventory of what I can still wear. If that doesn’t produce anything, there’s always the trusty ukay-ukay to run to.

Myrza Sison

What is your shopping philosophy?

If the amount of money you need to shell out for an item is enough to fund a small business, it costs too much.

Agoo Bengzon

What has your mother taught you about shopping with your husband?

I’ve observed, over the years, that my mom and dad usually go their separate ways when it comes to shopping. It’s the same with my husband. We have different interests. We like to give each other time to wander around and shop for what we like. However, if there is something that I do like and can’t afford, I ask Andy to tag along.

Tata Mapa

What would you buy for yourself at Chocolate?

The denim minis! They are so comfortable and they go with anything.

Isha Andaya

What item from Chocolate will give you a flirty look?

A pair of those skinny jeans for dancing, paired with killer heels or cool flat boots.

Anne Bella

What do you equate with the Christmas season?

Getting all dolled-up for Mass and noche buena when I was younger. Now that I’m older, I still love dressing up for the holidays, only I have replaced my smocked dresses with ball skirts and fancy pieces.

Rorie Carlos

What color will be dominant this holiday season?

Black is back. To give it a fresh look, pick pieces with interesting textures and details. If you prefer color, plum and burgundy are my favorites for the season.

Embassy Club was rocking until the sun came up as high fashion and house music converged in a single and definitely unforgettable event. Puma and party drink of choice, Smirnoff Ice, presented Fashion in the Mix, a stylistic fusion of Manila’s hottest fashion personalities and electronica. Stylist Kym de Guzman, designers Kate Torralba and Rajo Laurel, model Avi Siwa, and events man GP Reyes took turns in Embassy’s DJ booths, both in the main and VIP room, each playing their own distinct brand of dance music while models in full Puma regalia sashayed down specially setup runways.

Je Gavierres

What drink would you be passing around to your buddies at Embassy Super Club?

Smirnoff Ice, of course, because of its sweet flavor and the extra kick it gives!

Alex Gutierrez

What kind of music defines your style?

Deep down-tempo house, depending on my mood, the kind that’s sometimes trendy, but always sophisticated.

Joanna Padilla

Who would you like to see behind the decks?

Kate Moss. She has a reputation for being an A-list party person, which makes her familiar with almost any track that she might want to play.

Ivan Zalameda

What would be the best fashion accessory on the dance floor?

A gorgeous, sexy girl who can move her booty! That’s all you need.

GP Reyes

If your personal style was a song, what would it be?

My style is unreleased white label big room house music, a remix of any Rat Pack classic – completely fresh and new, yet so comfortingly familiar; intriguing and elusive, yet magnetic. It is the anthem for a chosen few.

Tea is one of the healthiest beverages known to man. All the natural goodness found in tea is a result of a perfect combination of sun, wind, water, and earth that produces one magical and nourishing beverage. Lipton Yellow Label Tea hosted a lunch at People’s Palace in Greenbelt where tea mixologists Tim Yap, Celine Lopez, Hindy Weber-Tantoco and Paolo Abrera showed off their favorite tea concoctions. Guests later mixed their own brew from a Lipton tea buffet.

Jika Dalupan

How do you take your tea?

I like my tea fruit-tea! I normally take it with diced fruits like apple or mixed with my favorite fruit flavors.

Ala Paredes

How often do you drink tea?

Every other day, usually at night. I sing in a band and a cup of tea helps me get ready before performances.

Chico Angeles

When is the best time to drink tea?

Anytime during the day! I drink hot tea when I want to relax and detoxify, after I wake up and before I go to bed. I also take iced tea during the course of a meal.

Jo Ko

What do you like about tea?

It keeps me alert without that nauseating palpitation. Tea also helps me feel healthy and alive!

Angelique Villaraza

What is your favorite kind of tea?

Any bittersweet tea that can nurse a nasty hangover.

Happy David

How do you prefer your cup of tea: iced or hot?

It depends on my mood or on the weather, but I usually drink it hot. It gives a really relaxing and soothing feeling.

Cza De Leon

If you were to make your own tea recipe, what would you put in it?

One Lipton Yellow Label teabag, some condensed milk, a teaspoon of vanilla and whipped cream, and caramel swirls.

Ria Romero

What got you into drinking tea?

I’ve always preferred tea – be it green, rice, corn, chai, earl grey, or vanilla flavored. Green tea is the perfect pick-me-upper and it’s great for detoxifying the system!

Paolo Abrera

What gives you a natural high?

Sports! Being outdoors and working up a sweat is the best high you can get. Whether it’s cycling, going for a quick jog or doing a few laps in the pool, the feeling of sun on your skin and wind on your face is what it’s all about!

Paul Cuaso

How do you relieve yourself of stress?

To save my sanity after 12 hours of meetings and presentations, I let my mouth rest and binge in a quiet restaurant. It’s such a soulful experience to give your mouth that well-deserved pampering through your favorite comfort food and a cup of good quality tea like Lipton.

James Ong

How do you rejuvenate yourself after a long day of work?

I hang out with friends, preferably with an ice-cold drink on hand, and catch up on the interesting things that happened during the day – you can’t imagine how many new developments crop up every five minutes!
