Children are shining stars with MTV and Penshoppe

For the second year in a row, 500 children from different children’s organizations all over Metro Manila participated in a full-day affair at the NBC Tent. Aptly entitled "Shining Stars," the children were the focus of the affair as celebrities and other guests joined the activities. Mascots, musicians and storytellers were all present to entertain the children, along with modules created by Museo Pambata.

Also present at "Shining Stars" were MTV and Penshoppe Youth Council members Uriah Van der Bos, Brad Turvey, Nicole Schulze and Terrence Koa. Each month the MTV and Penshoppe Youth Council participate in a socio-civic activity where they donate their time, energy and gifts to different underprivileged sectors of society. This month, the Council chose "Shining Stars" as the perfect event to bring Christmas cheer and goodwill to others.

"Shining Stars" was a concept created by Keren Pascual and his friends, among them Joji Dingcong, Dr. Aga Nukid, Maurice Arcache and E.J. Litton. They wanted to create a soup kitchen with the idea of giving something to underprivileged children during the Christmas holidays. With the great success of last year’s event, they once again organized an even grander affair with celebrities like Epy Quizon, Vina Morales, Albert Martinez and family, Tina Maristela and Ricco Ocampo with family, Diether Ocampo, Robby Mananquil and Rissa Samson and more.
