Pasyalan foodie tours set

MANILA, Philippines - Discover the secrets behind the best of native cuisine outside Metro Manila with special Foodie  Tours.

Budget Travel and Tours has crafted a special one-day Budget Pasyalan Tours, the Kitchen Confidential Series, where the best of the culinary offerings of Pampanga and San Pablo, Laguna are explored. Aptly called Home Cou-tour, this one-day Laguna experience, scheduled on Sept. 27, is a crash course on how relaxing at home with artisanal masterpieces, complemented with fresh native produce, can be therapeutic, if not engaging for the mind and for the stomach.

The dining experience starts with a feast for the senses, made richer with the craftsmanship of San Pablo artisans Ugu Bigyan and Patis Tesoro. The travelers are then given home tips on plating inspirations and dining presentations.

The Queng Cusina Tour scheduled on Oct. 17 is a gourmand’s treat altogether.  Participants get to try the sumptuous stuffed betute (frogs legs) and learn how to cook it the old-fashioned way.

They will also be taught how tamales is prepared and cooked early morning. Of course, there is the rich cashew sansrival which is truly “without rival” as it comes from a 100-year old recipe from the Belgian nuns. What’s more, there’s the tsokolate tablea which is spiced up and enriched with frothy milk, as it finds its way to the dining table.
