LPU, Air Asia host 2nd Manila Tourism Forum

MANILA, Philippines - The College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)-Manila campus, and Air Asia Inc., the most successful international low-cost carrier operating in the country, are hosting the second edition of the Manila Tourism Forum on Nov. 29 at LPU’s JPL Hall of Freedom.

The event is open to all Tourism and Hospitality Education students, faculty members, university officials, and the public.

With the theme “Pacesetting in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry,” the event has noted personalities in the industry as resource speakers: Jonathan Yabut, of Air Asia, the winner of the recently concluded reality TV show “The Apprentice Asia”; Alejandra Clemente, president of Rajah Tours; Catherine Castaneda, director of programs and standards of CHED; Sharon Fong, assistant vice president for marketing of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.; and Doris Magsaysay-Ho, CEO of Magsaysay Maritime Corp.

The keynote speaker is noted international travel and tourism research expert Sue Beeton, of La Trobe University in Victoria, Australia.

An open forum follows each talk to allow attendees to interact with the speaker and obtain a deeper grasp of the topic at hand.

The entrance ticket of only P650 entitles the participant to the conference kit, a certificate of attendance, full-service sit-down lunch, heavy morning and afternoon snacks, and a raffle stub for valuable prizes, which include tickets to Air Asia’s domestic and international destinations.

Since the venue has limited capacity, tickets are on a first-order, first-served basis through (02) 527-2744 or 527-8251 local 117, care of CITHM secretary Cherisse Punzalan or Tourism chairperson Miriam Oreta.
