Pan Pacific Manila enters new chapter

MANILA, Philippines - Since its establishment in Manila 12 years ago, Pan Pacific has distinguished itself for its butler service. For centuries, butlers have played indispensable roles in the households of the rich, the nobilities, and the royals. By adopting that concept, Pan Pacific has practically reinvented the way guests are treated and pampered.

Pan Pacific’s butlers have been proving that point with their mastery of impeccable service, the kind that treats guests like royalty. This same dedication to quality is also reflected in the hotel’s facilities, amenities, and services.

As if these things could not get any better, Pan Pacific Manila general manager Richard Masselin reveals that 2010 will present many developments.

“We are going to realize our big plans this year. One of these is our loyalty program, the specifics of which we will announce real soon. What we can say right now, the loyalty program we are developing is unique and spectacular,” Masselin says.

Pan Pacific Manila is eyeing more happenings and benefits for its customers. It has already begun room renovations. Masselin reports: “The rooms are now brighter. Bathroom TVs with 22-inch LCDs are now installed as well as new carpets. Of course, at Pan Pacific, comfort begins at the desk.”

He stresses: “We are adding to the human capability of our brand. We are coming out with exciting new stuff in our food and beverage selections. Our restaurants have turned out to be very successful concepts. What we are also concerned about is bringing consistency.”

The hotel is a rich source of some of the city’s most dynamic menus. The Adriatico Square has become a diners’ hub, with a variety of restaurants, snack bars, coffee shops, and specialty outlets. On offer are Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and other international and local cuisines.

The Pacific Lounge, Lobby Lounge, and Poolside Bar have all become staples in Manila’s dining scene. Masselin adds that all these outlets will remain current and happening places.

“In our observation, our guests’ tastes have not changed. They just want quality all throughout their experience here. What has changed though is their level of sophistication. It is worth noticing though that our business travelers are now looking for healthy food alternatives, instead of dishes that serve big heavy portions,” he reveals.

Masselin shares that it is still the butlers who best represent the true spirit of Pan Pacific. He calls the butlers the secret of Pan Pacific’s success, referring to them as “multi-talented and well-trained.”

On the hotel’s 12th year, the general manager sums it up, thus, “Those 12 years very much show that Pan Pacific continues to evolve and progress. Our guests will definitely feel our growth.”
