From Prada to Narra

MANILA, Philippines - Narra Jewelry debuted at the Cake Club last Sunday with a trunk show presentation. The five-piece collection by Bea Ledesma and Ria Prieto was inspired by fossils. “Our starting point was the skull,” says Bea. “We thought it would be interesting to begin with remains — what happens after time has passed? What’s left behind?”

The result? A skull bracelet on grosgrain ribbon.

The rest of the edgy collection was based on museum images of fossils: a shark jaw, shark tooth and fish fossil necklaces, as well as a bone cuff.

“Narra is about effortless jewelry you can wear every day,” says Ria. “You can wear it your own way, layering it with whatever accessories you feel like or by itself.”

Made from .925 sterling silver dipped in gold, Narra’s pieces are designed to fade for an aged effect — like you’ve been wearing them for years.

“Too many times, the pieces we purchase are throw-away. Wear it once and then it’s off to the back of the closet,” Bea observes. “We wanted to create pieces you could live with, grow with, wear all the time.”

Narra is available at AC+632, Greenbelt 5. Like them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/narrajewelry or follow @NarraJewelry on Twitter.
