Classical music, delightful reads, and storytelling sessions at The Shang

MANILA, Philippines - This May, Shangri-La Plaza invites mothers, kids and other family members to immerse themselves in the wonders of literature and music through an exciting lineup of activities.

“Motherhood Tales,” a series of themed events for moms and families, highlights the valuable role of reading in kids’ lives. At the “Motherhood Tales” exhibit, slated from May 18 to 24 at the Grand Atrium, expect to feel the pleasant vibes of “Mom’s little haven” — where a mock living room, study room and nursery room will be set up to mimic the look and feel of key areas in the house where mothers read to unwind or read stories to their children.

A post-Mother’s Day tribute, the exhibit brings together successful, well-known celebrity mothers Nina Daza-Puyat, Audrey Tan-Zubiri, Xandra Ramos, Cathy Babao, Ana Singson, Lyn Ching-Pascual, and Hindy Weber Tantoco as they share their literary inspirations and recommend good reads.

On May 21 at 4 p.m., get ready for the Motherhood Tales Storytelling Session where children can listen to a series of book tales that warm the heart and offer inspiration to the little ones.

The literary pleasures continue with a Book Fair care of Powerbooks and National Book Store, which completes the event roundup and invites parents to take home great book selections for the whole family to enjoy.

Finally, a delightful musical spectacle also awaits mall guests of the premier lifestyle destination via the Suzuki Music Kids’ Sounds of Summer Concert, to be held on May 26, 5:30 p.m. at the Grand Atrium. Presented by the Philippine Suzuki Association, the concert features a 110-piece ensemble from the Carmensita Arambulo’s Suzuki Music School, which will perform excerpts from classics such as Mozart’s A Little Night of Music Serenade and other well-known pieces.
