Christmas shopping is a breeze at Ayala Malls

On your mark, get set, go!

As the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear, the country’s leading lifestyle destination  the Ayala Malls  is pulling all stops to make sure that the shopping marathon will be a breeze and not a “nightmare before Christmas” for its patrons.

Keeping its shoppers’ convenience in mind, the Ayala Malls boasts carefully defined and organized merchandise zones to make it easier for shoppers to look for the items on their gift list. Whatever’s left of your 13th-month bonus, you will surely find gift items that suit your budget.

Ayala malls egc: The gift of choice

Still undecided what to give your loved ones and precious godchildren this Christmas? Give them the gift of choice — the Ayala Malls egc (electronic gift certificate) that is! It was one of the most practical gifts my son Karl received from his favorite ninang last Christmas.

Although he had no idea what the plastic card was all about, his eyes lit up when I explained to him what he could buy with it. So off we went to Toys R Us in TriNoma and he got himself the limited-edition Emily Fox Pro-Series Speedstacks, which costs P1,500+.

Unlike ordinary gift certificates where you have to consume the amount in full, the egc won’t pressure you to do so. For example, Karl’s egc was worth P2,000. Since he spent only P1,650, he still had P350 left. The cashier gave him his change in the form of a receipt. You have to keep the receipt to determine how much money you have left on your egc.

Karl wanted to spend the remaining balance at Comic Alley, but we were not sure if it would be honored there. So we went to the concierge to get a list of the affiliated merchants. Luckily, Comic Alley was one of them. The attendants were so warm and friendly. In fact, one of them even taught my son how to check his egc balance via the BPI Express Phone. Just dial 89-100, press “4” for BPI Express Cash. Press “1” to inquire about the balance on your card, and key in your 16-digit BPI Express Cash Gift Card number.

Another convenient way to do it is via text message. Key in BALEC<16-digit PBI Express Cash card number>Example: BALEC 5577531031001234 and send to 2274 for Globe and TM subscribers; 3274 for Smart and Talk ’N Text subscribers. Your egc balance will be sent to you via SMS. There will be a charge of P2.50 per text.

We are family: The Family Lounge offers shoppers a relaxing place to recharge after the shopping frenzy.

It’s ‘U’ who matters most

At Ayala Malls, the trademark “customer is king” orientation has a new name — “U-First.”

The U-First program targets a wide spectrum of shoppers: families, persons with disabilities (PWD), travelers, among others. In fact, Ayala Malls has managed to come up with services that are meaningful and relevant to each one of them. For PWDs, this can be felt as soon as they enter the mall’s parking area. The Ayala Malls is thoughtful enough to set aside dedicated parking lots to make their mall experience a pleasurable one. They can also get PWD facilities map, sign language assistance, and wheel-in service, which are given upon entrance to the malls.

U-First’s main feature is the concierge service, located near mall entrances and in areas with high pedestrian traffic. At TriNoma, it’s found right in the middle of the Activity Center area. There’s one, too, at the lower ground floor, right in front of Gourdo’s.

The concierge provides shoppers the entry point for information on how to make their mall visit a more rewarding experience. It is also an avenue for feedback and suggestions on how to further improve services and amenities in malls.

Here are more reasons for tourists and OFWs to go malling this Christmas. With Ayala Malls’ Traveler’s Advantage Service, they, too, can avail themselves of perks and special conveniences normally offered in hotels. If you’re an A-card holder for a day, you can enjoy personal shopper assistance, flight confirmation service, hotel reservation, restaurant reservation, transport assistance, and porter service.

For business executives or the tech-savvy who need to get connected, there’s a Networker’s Station that provides unlimited Wi-Fi access, free use of laptops at selected stations, comfortable lounges such as the business lounge at TriNoma and the e-Lounge at Glorietta, and mobile phone charging stations.

The most visited lounge in Ayala Malls is the Family Lounge, a relaxing place for families to recharge after the shopping frenzy. Here, the whole family can engage in bonding activities before hitting the shops again. And for those with infants and toddlers, there are facilities for changing diapers and warming feeding bottles. There’s a nursing station, too, for breastfeeding mothers.

All these amenities are specially designed by Ayala Malls with “U” in mind. Happy holiday shopping!
