MANILA, Philippines — A school in Cotabato named a grade one section after singer Jed Madela.
In his official Facebook account, Jed posted photos of Albert Einstein School in Cotabato wherein a grade one section was named after him.
Jed said that the naming of the section came just in time as he is facing difficult times.
"In times when I feel so unimportant and ignored in one corner, my Lord picks me up and gives me the tightest hug," he wrote.
In the photo, Jed was described as the first Filipino to win the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in 2005.
"I am so honored. Woke up to these photos sent by my friend Manduyog Rashid," he said.
"This is from Albert Einstein School in Cotabato where they named Grade One under me!" he added.
Jed said that he hopes to visit the school soon.
"I’m so happy!!! Sending my my love and thanks to Sir Edison, the faculty and the students! Hope to visit you in the future!!!" he said.
Jed won six gold medals for all six categories he joined at the WCOPA.
He then became one of the best singers in ABS-CBN.
