Zonta Club of Manila Foundation Inc., headed by the hardworking president for biennium 2020-2022 Nene Pe Lim, was the first Zonta chapter in the Philippines and Asia as a whole. More commonly known as Zonta Manila 1, the club belongs to District 17 and Area 1 of Zonta International and is celebrating its 70th foundation anniversary this year.

Despite the pandemic, the club fulfilled Zonta’s goal of advancing the status of women through committed service by way of its significant projects like providing hygiene kits to female detainees, donating gadgets to hardworking but underserved students, and holding webinars tackling women’s rights, among others.

As a way of extending her utmost gratitude to all the members for their invaluable contributions and to celebrate the club’s achievements, the affable and tireless Nene hosted a lovely get-together at Chef Jessie Rockwell Club restaurant in Makati City. During the said event, a meaningful turnover ceremony of the club presidency to Dr. Giselle Padilla Concepcion was also held.
