MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines’ rich resource of exotic natural materials serves as inspiration to many international and local designers. In each edition of Manila FAME International, top names in the design industry have always been part of the show to strengthen its position as the perfect platform to source for high-quality and design-driven merchandise that are fashioned from indigenous materials.
The country’s premier trade show for home-fashion lifestyle puts the spotlight on in the country’s three widely used iconic raw materials and adopts a special setting dubbed “New Directions from curator Maja Olivares-Co.”
The special setting will have two components — Heritage Wall and Ideas Wall — both of which trigger even more creative applications for tomorrow’s material trends and designs. More so, the special setting will be a birthplace of new processes in design thinking that will inspire fresh ideas and generate a new appreciation and expression of Philippine design.
The Heritage Wall, in particular, will feature the historical background, notable designs and technological developments and design innovations through the years of the three highlighted raw materials. On the other hand, the Ideas Wall highlights the inspirational sketches, product prototypes, technological breakthroughs from artisans and designers that made a mark in Philippine design.
Organized bi-annually by the Department of Trade and Industry through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions, Manila FAME International is one of the longest trade shows for lifestyle products in Asia Pacific and the only accredited event in the Philippines by Union des Foires Internationales (UFI), a Paris-based association of trade fair organizers. It also offers the world’s discerning buyers a wide selection for home interiors featuring furniture and home furnishings, (home decorations, houseware), holiday décor, gifts, arts and crafts, and fashion complements (costume jewelry, fine jewelry, footwear and leathergoods).
Manila FAME International, the country’s trade show for top-notch artistry and craftsmanship, continues to become a popular destination for best designs in home and fashion lifestyle products in Asia. It remains one of the favorite sourcing destinations of famous brands such as Pier 1 Imports, Crate and Barrel, Neiman Marcus, Ballard Designs, Kalalou, Roost, Lawrence of La Brea, Hermon & Hermon, Papaya, Samaco, Lane Crawford, Li & Fung, El Corte Ingles, Hollander, Konert, Impressionen, Asplund, Etoile Kaito, itokin, Euro Diwan, BML, Kontekas, DK Home, Haans Lifestyle, and Briefing Collection.
