It was a dazzling evening as the SM Mall of Asia recently celebrated the Grand Festival of Lights, the grandest and most spectacular Christmas parade ever.
During the event, lighted floats for Unilever-SM Hypermarket, the SM Department Store, Kultura Filipino, Watsons, Ace Hardware, Toy Kingdom, Leisure Center, Inc., Kidz Republic, Oishi, SM Mall of Asia’s Sea Float and Toy Factory glowed as they paraded in San Miguel by the Bay.
Joining in the grand celebration were SM founder and chairman Henry Sy Sr., and Felicidad Sy, SM Prime Holdings president Hans T. Sy, SCMC president Annie Garcia and SM president Teresita Sy-Coson.
Bring the whole family to the grand festival of lights today, Dec. 13, Dec. 20 and Dec. 25 and watch the top chorales like the UP Ambassadors, UP Vocale Esemble and Coro Tomasino fill the air with Christmas carols.
Capping the event was the launch of the the Firefly Choir Christmas Tree, which is composed of top band chorales, a 53-foot giant singing Christmas tree that has 47,000 bulbs and yet consumes 3,000 watts, festooned with cost-saving firefly light- emitting diode and fluorescent light. It is Firefly’s way of promoting energy-efficient solutions from every home and that holiday lighting need not to be a burden to the environment. The tree uses energy-sufficient saving wonders proven to be more cost effective, functional, long-lasting, durable and environment-friendly. The Firefly Choir Christmas Tree will be at San Miguel By The Bay until Dec 25.
Hosted by TV personality Drew Arellano, the event also featured singer Frenchie Dy, who amazed the audience with her own renditions of Christmas carols accompanied by the Hail Mary Queen Children’s Choir like Gloria, Kumukutikutitap, Can You Hear Me?, and Joy to the World.
Grand Festival of Lights and Firefly Choir Christmas Tree are two of the many exciting events of SM Mall of Asia this Christmas season.
