Coinciding with the festivities was the induction ball where officers and directors of the chamber took their oath to better the country’s pawnshop industry. An international volunteers organization molding volunteers to better help women and the less privileged young, Vides Philippines recently started a program called "Busina Mo, Dunong Ko," a mobile library to give street children access to good reading materials. Led by

Dr. Adolfo Bellosillo, founding president of the Foundation for Lay Education on Heart Diseases (FLEHD), received three prestigious awards from notable organizations, all in the span of one month–the "Golden Heart Award" by the Philippine Heart Association/Philippine College of Cardiology, "Outstanding Professional Award in Medicine" by the Professional Regulation Commission and the "Distinguished Alumnus Award" given by the University of Iowa’s Cardiovascular Division.
