MANILA, Philippines - MakatiMed brings world-class health care to South Luzon by partnering with the fast-growing Tagaytay Hospital and Medical Center (THMC). President and CEO Rose Montenegro led the signing of the memorandum of agreement (MOA) with THMC’s officers in simple ceremonies held at Sta. Rosa, Laguna last August 6.
The partnership is part of MakatiMed’s Strategic Hospital Alliance Program (SHAP) that seeks to accredit select medical institutions as MMC’s partners. Under the program, partner hospitals may refer patients to MakatiMed, where they can have access to its facilities and services such as highly-specialized laboratory tests. Patients are also set to gain from collaborations among MakatiMed physicians and their counterparts in the partner hospitals.
“We are excited about this program because it allows MakatiMed to work with its partner hospitals in the provinces in bringing world-class care to patients through cutting-edge technology and unparalleled expertise. There is a huge opportunity for MakatiMed to reach a broader market outside of Metro Manila,” says Dina Paraiso, vice president for sales, business planning and development, which runs the program.
THMC is one of the first SHAP partner hospitals in the Calabarzon area. Its six-storey facility is poised to become a haven for medical tourists who would undergo medical, surgical, and aesthetic procedures within a hotel-like ambiance in the cool highlands of Tagaytay.
Last week, MakatiMed also forged an agreement with Metro Lemery Medical Center in Batangas. It is expected that some eight hospitals and medical centers in South and North Luzon will partner with MakatiMed by the end of the year.
